It is Friday again and I just want to head back home to finish the upgrades to my pc. When I finish the upgrade’s I want to play HellDivers 2, FFXIV, and maybe some Persona 3 Reload. I got a new CPU, new motherboard and had to run to Best Buy to get a new CPU Cooler.

I’ll hopefully start upgrading my PC soon because it’s well overdue now (apart from the graphics card, which is now an RX 5700 XT). I’ve got my eyes on a motherboard & CPU combo on AliExpress (I know, they might not be the most reliable, but for the price, it’s worth a shot), so hopefully, I’ll be able to grab it soon.

What games do you want to play this weekend?

Since Dead Island 2 has made its way to Game Pass on Xbox, I’ll be investing hopefully more than a few hours into the game since I’ve been waiting to play it when it was first announced in 2014. I’ll also be playing my usual Game Pass games too, and hopefully something else, perhaps Brotato.

What’s your favourite Super ability from a video game?

It’ll have to be the freeze spell from Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Not only can you use this spell to freeze enemies, but you can use it to make floors slippery, which often leads to some hilarious results (enemies falling off cliffs and other edges, sliding straight into conveniently placed spikes and other environmental hazards, knocking down other enemies, etc) thanks to Arkane’s use of the Source Engine.

Have a good weekend, everyone!

What games do you want to play this weekend? Waifu and the crew are finally getting into Elden Ring. I’m surprised that she’s actually taking a liking to it (so far). If I have any idle time, I’m going to slowly chip away at Granblue.
What’s your favorite Super ability from a video game? Honestly, it’s the shadow dash from Dishonored. Anything where I can make travel easier.

@joshuagriffin , I’ve been eyeballin one of these for a cute HTPC build. Maybe it might work out for you, too?

Basically, laptop CPU with higher thermal limits, SO-DIMM and has two NVMe 5.0 slots. You just slap a 120mm fan onto the integrated cooler and you’re on your way to the races. My only reservation was the lack of USB ports, but controllers do be Bluetooth. These really interest me because every time I see myself upgrading a machine, the mobo won’t support the current chipset… so I find myself trying repurpose 80% of the old build for something else.

I’ll be making more progress on Final Fantasy XIII this weekend. Starting in about eight hours!

Favorite ability, my first thought would be Focus from the Horizon {Zero Dawn,Forbidden West} games. Imagine heads-up augmented reality display giving you all the info you need on everything around you, including through walls, all with just one little gadget that attaches just in front of your ear. Forget being some sort of super-hero, that thing would be hella useful just in my ordinary life.

What games do you want to play this weekend?

Pretty sure the boys and I are getting together for another BG3 session tomorrow morning. Hopefully I’ll be able to login to Helldivers 2 servers, that would be nice. If not I’ll probably just end up playing some more AC Origins.

What’s your favorite Super ability from a video game?

Oh my, this is a rough one. Probably something like the bells for the monk in Diablo 3. Those things kicked some serious demon butt. That or anything from any game that lets me carry more loot. I love looting

The band is getting back together tomorrow to play Sons of the Forest and we’re using in-game coms for proximity chat and the walkie talkies for some extra immersion.

Thanks for the shout. It does look like a good performer, but I recently upgraded to an RX 5700 XT from AliExpress, and I won’t be able to afford one of those Minisforum PCs.

I have recently been trying to buy physical copies of PS3 games that I never had or just had digital versions. A lot of PS3 games are pretty cheap. Recent purchases: Resonance of Fate, Eternal Sonata. Other games I have been playing: God of War Ragnarok.

What games do you want to play this weekend?
This weekend, probably some Immortals Fenyx Rising. Skipped on release due to Zelda fatigue but I am quite enjoying it. Normally Ubi averse, but this one somehow has all the annoying elements but makes them not annoying. Plus I like the combat whereas in BotW in particular I avoided combat due to weapons breaking. I still like BotW, less so TotK. A shame I waited so long to try it out. It’s like it addressed some of my biggest Zelda complaints.

What’s your favorite Super ability from a video game?
Ooh, tough question. I will go with the classic and very satisfying Star in Mario. Nothing quite like sprint and blasting through a line of Goombas and Koopas, or those dang Hammer Bros.

What games do you want to play this weekend?
A - I want to play some Hell Divers 2 as well. It’s been my main game choice as of recently. I will be celebrating my birthday early this weekend though since my actual birthday is on the 27th next week.

What’s your favorite Super ability from a video game?
A - The one that comes to my mind instantly when I think about special ability is the VATS system from Fallout. I think it’s a cool idea and it really got perfected in Fallout 4.

I’m honestly not sure. I’m headed to a very belated Chinese New Year party tomorrow, I’m sure we’ll play a bunch of board games. I’m preparing some potluck so I don’t know how much gaming I’ll do. I want to put some more time into Tekken 8 if my friends are on, I need them to teach me how to really play. Sunday we’re playing Cyberpunk Red, unfortunately one of the guys is moving away but I’ll see if one of my friends can jump in.

I think someone else mentioning Diablo put D2’s characters on my mind. The druid’s my favorite class and I was extremely happy to see Resurrected buff the summons into a decent build. The wolves and/or bear are great fighters you can resummon to reposition, the spirit is a great party member, and the ravens are silly yet sometimes useful. I always loved playing with them and I’m glad they’re kinda good now.

What a throwback. My friend and I overhyped the heck out of that game in middle school and we were pretty let down in the end. The game had a lot of fun ideas but they leaned a little too hard into the physics combat. Not a bad game at all, just we were expecting a 10/10 and ended up with more of a 7/10.

New PC upgrades are in my sights but the sight is a 20x scope  I still have some pretty great parts so it’s not a necessity. Might end up getting an OLED Steam Deck instead

With the new DLC announcement, might make my way back into Elden Ring even though I 100%'d it. Or perhaps a different Soulsborne
What’s your favorite Super ability from a video game?

A bit niche, but Guan-Yu’s ult from Smite. You grow huge and ride a giant horse while swinging your Crescent Blade on the left and the right. It’s not always the most useful but it looks so cool.

What games do you want to play this weekend?

Pokemon Crystal! Though I’ll probably end up working on video editing and voiceover for my first channel video. I also might play some Stardew Valley

My partner has been playing X4 (or something like that). It’s a spaceship combat sim game and ordered a cable for some flightsticks and controls that they have. I might even give it a shot for a bit cause it looks kinda cool, especially once the thruster and flightstick are set up. It looks great on the ultra-wide monitor.

What’s your favorite Super ability from a video game?

My favorite super ability from a video game, I mean I saw someone else mention VATS and that’s a good one. Even though it kinda can trivialize the game because my scaredy-cat butt walks through the wasteland spamming the VATS button to see threats first and hopefully before they can see me so I can get sneak attacks. I’m not very good at shooters so tools like VATS helps so much. Also I generally play 3rd person because 1st person shooters can make me motion sick. I used to play FPS games like CoD and Battlefield in my teens but as I’ve aged those kinds of games make me motion sick now.

What games do you want to play this weekend?
I think if the boys are on, I’ll be sinking time into Helldivers 2 and Hunt: Showdown but also a game I’ve had my eye on released yesterday so in my downtime I might be sinking some solid hours into Pacific Drive. If you don’t know anything about it I recommend looking up the GameRanx Before you Buy video up on YouTube for it.

What’s your favorite Super ability from a video game?
This is tough, I’ve played so many games as I’m sure a lot of us have, A few things come to mind, I think back to the original release of Prototype, how cool would it be to have these wild regenerative and shapeshifting abilities?

Additionally, there are some other unique opportunities here too, it’s hard to choose and some of my favorite characters and favorite game don’t necessarily have an “ultimate ability.” I think I’ll go with Shapeshifting for sure.

Heroes of Might and Magic: Dark Messiah:
Man, that title takes me BACK, I really enjoyed it, I think it had a lot of great ideas and industry leading mechanics, but the story was short and paper thin… still I LOVED it.

What games do you want to play this weekend?

Cyberpunk 2077 is on the menu for me. Did not play it in its broken phase, but I have been enjoying it in its current phase which is probably where it should have been at launch. It isn’t perfect but I have been having fun with it.

What’s your favorite Super ability from a video game?

Give me the time slow mechanic. Focus, slow time, whatever name you want to give it. I’ve seen VATs mentioned which uses a form of that, so maybe that is included. I am not sure I would be able to do the most good in the world with it, but I would likely win any competition I so choose with it.

This weekend? I really want to play Nier Replicant and wrap it up. Then my intent is to try and dig into the System Shock remake, but likely I’ll be starting Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. If I find myself with less time, I’ll put a few hours into Dredge or Jusant.

What games do you want to play this weekend?

To no one’s surprise, I can’t run FarCry 5 on my laptop well enough to actually play. But now it’s on GamePass, so I have a second chance! A Way Out is also planned for the weekend with the wife, though we’ll likely need to warm up a bit with Human Fall Flat or something.

Whats your favorite Super ability from a video game?

Hmmm, this isn’t something I’m familiar with.

After reading other answers though it seems to be something you earn during the game once you play enough…

Now I know why I’m unaware of these. =/
