It’s the week of SysAdmin day again (celebrated the last Friday in July, which is the 25th in 2025), so let’s celebrate!

You’re going to see quite a few posts this week about SysAdmins and the great work they do. Just remember, here on Spiceworks we are celebrating all IT professionals; even if you aren’t currently performing SysAdmin responsibilities, we celebrate you anyway. :slight_smile:

Thank you for doing good, often with little thanks or recognition.
Thank you for helping people, even when they are not appreciative.
Thank you for being the Superheroes of every workplace… keeping things up and running, protecting from evil malware and phishing threats, and being kind even when that one person forgets a password for the thirty-second time.
Thank you, most of all, for being here with us and helping support each other. We love having you around, and are grateful for all that you do to make the world a little bit better, every day. :grinning_face: :partying_face:

My dad is visiting for the week so I’ll be working some of this week but from home. I may take Friday and one other day off too.

I know it’s SysAdmin Day on Friday, but Happy SysAdmin Week folks! Let’s do this, let’s push this through, let’s get to Friday where nobody knows what day it is, and let’s all pat ourselves on the back, because nobody else will! :smiley:

If I can swing it I may treat myself to a WFH day. I have to line up some actual work though, otherwise the temptation to “dilly-dally” on a Friday may be too tempting.

Working, finish work, then back to working but instead of IT, helping a local gaming business by being the face and help to customers who need advice or support playing on Retro to Modern consoles and talking to people passing by to see if they are interested in joining in on the fun
