My current system specs:

MB: ROG Strix X399-E Gaming

CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X

Memory: 128GB

Drive: 1TB M.2 NVMe (Crucial)

Graphics Card: MSI RTX 2060 Ventus 6G OC

I’ve been trying to process video, and I’ve tried everything I can think of and the rendering always crashes.

I’ve run it with Adobe Premier on Win 10 = Crash with NVidia Studio Driver, Gforce driver and the Windows 10 native driver.

I tried VSDC and same result.

I’ve tried POP OS! with Kdenlive and it crashes.

I’ve tried several formats and it’s always the same result.

I’m trying to join GoPro clips so I even tried MP4 joiner and it joined, but then the video will play, but not track.

I’m at my wits end. I’m a systems engineer, and I’m not rich but if I need a different vid card, or an Intel board will accomplish this, so be it.

I need to be able to do process video and I just don’t have the time to keep researching this problem so I’m hoping there will be someone here with the expertise to help.

Thanks in advance and may all your systems run cool.

Sean

I hope this helps. And that makes sense. Game ready and studio are different drivers.

Have you stress tested your PC to see if your temps are going too high or CPU usage too low during rendering?

If the driver swap fails and budget allows, best I can recommend is Sony Vegas. I did some video editing as a hobby a few years back, tried quite a few applications and the only one that didn’t give me consistent problems was Vegas. Granted this was back in the days that I had a FX8350 and GTX 760, so mileage may vary, but it was rock solid back then.

Vegas is a fantastic production tool, but they are owned by Magix now (along with Acid and Sound Forge)
