I’ve created some accounts with admin access under

Settings → Network Scan → Network Accounts for Scanning

I would like to change the description and/or the password for these accounts.

However, under each account that I have created, it says cannot be altered.

Is there a way to alter these accounts?

3 Spice ups

Hello, Michael,

In the same page just:

Settings → Network Scan → Network Accounts for Scanning just click edit

1 Spice up

Michael,

If a current scan is using those credentials, you will not be able to edit them. You may need to delete the scan range, or edit it so that it uses another set of credentials. Then you should be able to edit, then resave, then re-add that scan range.

Let me know if you have questions.

They way i did it was:

  1. stoped spiceworks sevice

  2. on its properties, i configured it to run under local system instead of the AD admin account.

  3. started the service

  4. now, back in the web interface, i refreshed the page under the network scan setting, I checked if accounts were editable. they were, so I changed what I wanted.

  5. stoped the service again

  6. same as 2, but with AD account, not local system.

  7. started the service

  8. back in the web interface again for daily tasks

By the way, i haven’t found any of these accounts in the SQLite database…Maybe I was tired…
