I am preparing a presentation on Outlook files, have researched over many solutions but not getting one that is impressively written. I want an expert to give me a manual solution for inserting in my presentation slides. An ideal solution should be step by step and thoroughly explained for educational purposes. You can also add details about a similar software but it should explain its key features. I am preparing this to publish help manuals. Kindly reply asap.

There are no manual Step by step solution to convert OST to PST. You have to use third party tools to achieve it.

Try Ontrack PowerControls it did wonders when we had issues with our exchange mailboxes and database file.

3rd party is the only reliable way to do it.

Maybe I’m missing something here, but there are several ways to manually convert an .OST to .PST. If you mean by a command line or something, sure, that would require third-party tools.

Off the top of my head, here are two ways:

  1. Open Outlook. Once open, create a data file through account settings. Now, you have a .PST created and it will show up as a mailbox on the left-hand side. Manually copy everything from one mailbox to the other.

  2. Open Outlook. Go to File and then select archive. Set today or tomorrow’s date as the date you want everything archived “older than.”

If you want someone here to write up the “presentation” as a step-by-step guide, we’ll have to assume this is for a school project or something and we won’t do the work for you. However, if you have questions about certain steps, we’ll be glad to help.

You can convert OST to PST file by following the below given steps.

  1. Start MS Outlook and you can access the complete content in the OST files to be converted.
  2. Create new PST files.
  3. Go to the OST files and select and copy the complete content to be converted.
  4. Go back to the new PST files and paste the complete content into the PST file

Alternatively, you could also try Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager( Software not available ) to convert OST files to PST files.
