How Software Is Scanned

Not only can Spiceworks scan your hardware assets, it can also scan your software. You will be able to see all software installed, hotfix information, and services.

Software: Spiceworks uses Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to gather detailed information about the software installed on your computers. The remote registry hives HKLM/Software/Microsoft/WINDOWS/CurrentVersion/Uninstall and HKLM/Software/Wow6432Node/Microsoft/WINDOWS/CurrentVersion/Uninstall are used in order to obtain data.
Hotfixes: As part of its discovery process, Spiceworks reports back all Windows hotfixes installed on a machine. You can use this information to help troubleshoot issues or monitor machine health.
Services: Spiceworks will report the name and current state of all Windows services installed on each machine.

Please check the registry at those machines. Check this path in addition: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OFFICE(Version)\Registration and remove the entries for not installed software.
