Could someone tell me how the results of the software scanning works please? Having run a report of all of the microsoft products on the pc estate, it seems to be that the system has retained old information. For example if I had Office 2007 standard on a pc on Monday and then upgraded this to Office 2007 Professional on Wednesday, the report on Thurdsay is showing both versions of the software. It seems as if it has not removed the old entry for the software.

Is this the case?

Most problems like these are down to the registry not being updated properly by the programs installer/uninstaller because all SW does is query the registry:
