I once installed Microsoft Office 2007 Visio Professional on computer Test just to try something. Then I uninstalled it, but in the Spiceworks → Inventory → Software is still on the list. It’s not Spiceworks. Same thing happens here AND with MS Office too.

That bunch at Redmond don’t know how to write uninstallers - as if I didn’t have enough to undo already !

Actually MS have an additional program that cleans up the Office droppings - I don’t know it it’d fix up the Registry for Visio too.

Here’s the information I gleaned for dealing with Office 2003 from somewhere on the internet…

The Office Removal Wizard is located in the \\FILES\\PFILES\\MSOFFICE\\OFFICE11 folder on the install CD. OFFCLN.EXE

OR

delete the Office folder from “Program Files”

delete the registry keys hkey_current_user\\software\\microsoft\\office\\11.0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\office\\11.0

_________________________________________

[Insert standard playing with the registry warning here]

I’ve not tried OFFCLN yet but the registry fixup does work.

In the meantime I’ve a spreadsheet that I use to keep track of actuallity on the offchance that the auditors attack!

HTH

chris I once installed Microsoft Office 2007 Visio Professional on computer Test just to try something.
