We recently uninstalled a number of copies of Visio 2003 from our clients. We then ran spiceworks (new version 3.2) and it still says the installs are there. The software installed is “Microsoft Office Visio Standard” version = “2003”. I have gone to the clients, checked its not there, rebooted then done a rescan on Spiceworks. It still appears as being installed.

There are likely still registry entries for the software, as this is what SW uses to populate installed applications.

Try looking in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion*Uninstall*

and see if there is anything there. I’ll have to hunt it down again, but there may be a second second registry location that is sometimes used to determine installed applications.

This didnt seem to help. There is nothing about Visio there. We are having other problems also in some cases office 2003 Professional is installed, but on Spiceworks it says that Office 2007 Pro is installed as well as Office 2003 Pro. I vist the machine and its not on there.
