Im having trouble using Inventory scanning feature in Spiceworks. The scan will not even detect the computer I am using. Nothing on my network is blocking scans.

Any advise?

Have you used an account with admin privileges?

Yes, my account has admin privileges to my machine. When I bring up the Spiceworks scan, it does not prompt me for anything. I am assuming that it is not looking for an admin account…

For now, I am stuck.

Not just your machine, does the account have domain admin privileges? Though, you should get notices that machines can’t be scanned because the account does have permission. Do you get any kind of notices at all?

Good point. I did not try it on a server admin level. I will try and let you know.

there was some restriction on the desktop i was using. I have since then used a laptop and was able to see how the scan works. Pretty cool.
