Happy Friday! I’m definitely ready for the weekend (and Spiceworld).
I thought I’d share a funny thing that just happened to me that shows that I’m ready for the weekend. At leat y’all might get a little laugh out of it!
I’m sitting on a webinar and the presenter’s laptop shows a power alert, so I start frantically trying to figure out why my laptop is putting up this alert since I’m showing that I have a full battery & am plugged in. Then when I try to click it to go away, I realize that it’s on the presenter’s screen & not mine.
Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Ha! I don’t believe I have since I use a desktop at work but funny that you mention the presenter’s laptop dying. I feel that their batteries are ALWAYS low. Why is that!?
This has been shared before but while on the subject of conference calls and it’s Friday…

Sounds like something I would do.
I come in this mornong and the server room is over 88 degrees. All the air conditioning for the whole building is down.
The server backup unit is not keeping up with the demand.
Sigh time to go home I think.

Yes. When people send me screen caps of error messages, I try to click OK from time to time.

You have a temp monitoring system? Ours works like a dream. Once the temp in the server climbs above a certain point it starts email and text bombing the IT staff. (Just me and my boss at the moment.)

Yes we have a montoring system. It went off at 2:30am this morning. but a quick check and it showed the abackup uint was on and working, so my boss decided it can wait till he got in at 7:00. It didn’t tell him the whole building ac system was down and we pull part of our AC from the main system.
It’s cooling off now,so they must have got the main unit back up.
That has definitely happened before! Or if they have a somewhat embarrassing browser open, I’ve panicked thinking it’s mine left open for everyone to see.

Don’t you love how being around tech makes you think you are literally controlling ALL of it at once?
Really need a temp monitoring system; last time the temperature in the server room climbed too high it was out of hours. So no-one heard the temp hammering on the door to be let out.
I use RDC Manager , and as such I see my taskbar and the taskbar of whatever machine I’m connected to. At least once a week I get confused as to what is on my machine and what is on the other.

I’ve done that when I remote into a user’s computer. They are still logged in, so they are getting email notifications and I can’t figure out why my inbox doesn’t show anything.
