Unless you want to spend close to $1000 for an SSD (Solid State Drive) of 500 gigabytes, I would recommend sticking with a SATA hard drive. The boss has opened up the budget of a max of $1400 to purchase a new laptop. The user is a heavy on Microsoft Office(multiple docs open), File Storage(vids, pics, etc), VPN and projecting during meetings. I haven’t purchased any new laptops myself in over a year and I know a lot has changed since then.
What are some good recommendations for laptops? What are some of you guys/girls buying for your head honchos these days?

Keenan, I would recommend a Lenovo to be a top-notch laptop for your boss’s business use.
Lenovo ThinkPad W520 4276 - 15.6" - Core i7 2760QM - Windows 7 Professional.
You cannot go wrong with the laptop since it has an Intel i7 processor, a good sized screen and great reviews.
Also the price is approx $1,300 which fits the budget.
