I’m in a bit of a bind here. So I was let go of my awesome super-amazing job due to our company downsizing and I was the most recent hire so yeah. Thankfully I have found another job and I am excited for it and all but unfortunately it does not pay as well as my old job…sort of. So it’s a 6mo contract-to-perm position and I have my wedding coming up in less than a year. I’m curious to know if there is any kind of IT positions that are either in the evenings (6pm - 6am ???) or preferably remote/telecommute.

I’m looking through job postings but having a hard time sifting through these. Anybody have any input or thoughts on this?

Probably a datacenter tech or NOC jobs that monitor datacenters are going to be your best bet. With the advent of automation, most of these are now on a need basis rather than keeping staff around all night - joys of being salary and on-call.

You could look into an MSP Managed Service Provider, I work part time for one in the evening to monitor and cover calls

If you have any Linux / Firewall experience, look at Dell Secureworks. I’m not 100% sure they’re telecommute, but it’s very possible.

Thanks team! I never thought about NOC positions and I’m currently sifting through those. I just need something to help me catch up on my finances and get ahead on them.
