I know that there’s a ton of discussions about LinkedIn. However I haven’t really found any that talk about the Job Seeker options (Basic, Standard, an Plus). My question is plain and simple. Has anyone used any of the Job Seeker options (and if so, which one) and have you found that they’re worth the cost?

I already have my name into the job boards such as Indeed, Monster, Workopolis as well three different employment agencies. I’ve been looking for a change in jobs for a month and a half so far with only one interview so far (not including the headhunters). I’d like to try to cover all the bases that I can.

I have the $49/year business plan and find it useful. I would never pay more for the extra features though. You need a LinkedIn profile so a potential hiring manager or HR rep can look you up. If you aren’t on LinkedIn, many hiring managers will pass on you. You’re right, it’s not fair. But it’s reality, so suck it up and make your profile shine. Make sure to use the right keywords to help you get found if someone is searching (yes, it does happen).

If LinkedIn offers you a free month of the Job Seeker package, take it. I did once and didn’t see any need to give them money. But for free, sure, I’ll try it.

I spent some time recently to update my profile, and I have been getting A LOT of interest from it. I did not pay anything for Job Seeker premium - simply made sure that my profile looked sharp, up-to-date, and had plenty of keywords highlighting my experience (think web SEO).
