I’ve seen several plug-ins for Logmein Rescue which requires a paid for Logmein account.

We use Logmein Free and have done for many years. Please could somebody design the following plugin:

Custom Attribute to store desktop shortcut to Logmein URL for each inventory item (ie. each PC which has logmein free installed on it can have a desktop shortcut URL which sends the browser straight to the username/password for that PC part of the logmein session).

Display link in helpdesk ticket for this link based on the “Related to” field picking up the appropriate custom attribute field.

With this functionality we connect directly into the PC from the helpdesk ticket even with the Free edition.

If this isn’t feasible should I post this in the future functionality request section of the forum?

{"@type":"Person
{"@type":"Answer

We finally got this one figured out. I use LogMeIn Free and Pro, and I am not in a position to purchase Rescue. Thanks to Scott C. for creating the “Dynamic Troubleshooting Device Link.” So, download that plugin and I will walk through how we used this in our situation.

In Logmein as you look at the properties of your computer, you have an option to create a shortcut to that device. When you right click on computer icon, shoose copy shortcut.

Then, paste that into notepad. It will look something like this: LogMeIn - Remote Access and Desktop Control Software

Copy everything paste shortcut= and paste it into your new attribute for your device.

Once this is done for each computer, you have a direct connection to every computer that has LogMeIn Free or Pro installed. All you have to do is go to the device, click the Troubleshoot Device menu and choose the new LogMeIn Remote link that you just created.

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer
I’ve seen several plug-ins for Logmein Rescue which requires a paid for Logmein account.

We use Logmein Free and have done for many years. All workstations get this installed with a default admin password. Spiceworks actually recognizes it when you click “Remote Control” in the inventory. The only trick is you need to send a WOL (again right from the inventory panel) to be sure it’s “awake”. Seamless and simple.

{"@type":"Person
rormeister
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/rormeister"}},{"@type":"Answer
The problem is that VNC requires software installed on the desktop and the controlling PC too.
