I kept a LogMeIn Pro account last year when I moved most of my clients to ScreenConnect. Some of my customers still have their own LogMeIn Pro accounts. Last year I paid $79 to have access to two computers. I think that was discounted from the normal price of $99.
Just got an email that my Pro subscription will renew at $149.
Am I remembering this right? It seems like the plan was $99 last year. Anyone know?

I used to love LogMeIn until they start charging
Try using Google’s Chrome Remote Desktop. All you need is Google Chrome, the Remote Desktop App from Google and a gmail account.
Time to migrate to Splashtop Business… free trial at: www.splashtop.com/business It’s cost effective at $60 per user per year. Tens of thousands of LMI Pro users have moved to Splashtop. I’m here to answer any question

Up and up and up. I was fine with LMI charging a price as they provided a decent product. What I was not fine with is how they did that, virtually no warning. Then their price went up each year, and seems to still be doing that. I am glad we dumped them. We switched to Proxy Pro from Proxy Networks. Very happy with them and their product!

Seriously, establish a VLAN with LogMeIn Hamachi. Pricing is consistent, super easy, and very cheap! About $30 a year to RDP to 32 machines. It’s free for up to 5.
Crud, this thread made me check my LMI billing…yep going up another $350 this year. From $199/yr from 2010 through 2012 to $1499 this year…and NO new features. Yep, it’s time to switch

If the requirement is to manage the users within the network, Lepide remote admin tool is available free.
OK, I just confirmed what I suspected. One of my customers has her own account and here’s the billing for the last two years, $99 / year for two computers.
I can’t remember any company screwing it’s customers like LogMeIn has done over the last couple of years. Someone else said that LogMeIn must have hired a consultant who pointed out the Pareto Principle and showed them that 80% of their revenue was coming from 20% of their customers (possibly huge enterprises) and that they should just dump the 80% of the customers who are just an annoyance. It’s working.
Either that or LogMeIn hired Martin Shkreli as their CEO (the baby faced CEO who’s first step when taking over a drug company was to raise the price of one of it’s lifesaving drugs to $750 a pill).
As I mentioned I had already switched all the machines I support directly to ScreenConnect. Looks like I might help the handful of customers who still use LogMeIn on a onesy-twosey basis to migrate to something else.

My payments to Logmein, and the number computers I could access:
Dec 2013 = 43.50 (1 pro, 7 free computers)
Dec 2014 = 70.71 (1 pro, 5 free computers)
Dec 2015 = 86.67 (1 pro, 2 free computers)
Dec 2016 = 162.22 (1 pro, no free computers)
I canceled my subscription! I was a loyal customer since 2006.

Hi Steve,
If you’re looking for a cost-effective alternative to LogMeIn you might want to consider FixMe.IT as a possible option. The tool provides most of the LMI features and allows you to access and manage up to 150 unattended computers, plus run an unlimited number of concurrent support sessions - all for $30 per month or $300 per year. Free 15-day trial is available here if you’d like to test it.

LogMeIn just went up again, now to $249.99/year for Pro! That’s insanity.
Thanks Momin for the tip on Google’s Chrome Remote Desktop, never even knew it existed. Will be canceling LogMeIn for sure.

Today I just cancelled Logmein Pro because of their increased fees from $99.00 to $249.00.
TeamViewer is free for personal use and works well, as far as I can tell after my first day! (I am not associated with TeamViewer.

Does anyone have feedback on MS Internal program Remote Desktop Connection, which is built into all Microsoft operated PC since XP?

Do try Zoho Assist. We offer a 30-day free trial. You get a clutter-free remote access software that supports both unattended and attended modes at a far lesser price than LogMeIn Pro.

PM me for any queries. I’ll make sure you get the best price.

I used to have 8 accounts for each employee. I really liked Log Me In. I would have definitely stayed with them for many more years if they had raised their prices gradually or every 2-3 years. I knew I may have a tough decision to make if they raised their prices again. But yeah, when you triple your price in 3 years but offer pretty much the same package you lost any semblance of normal business practices. If any of my vendors did that (software, utilities, or professional services) I would look hard for an alternative. I wonder how many customers Log me in will lose this cycle? The thing is, no matter how inferior their competitors products may be, I doubt I will ever come back as I will always associate Log Me In with a greedy-take no prisoners company… Its a shame.

Logmein price hikes are insanity… now $249/yr??? What BS. Hope they lose most of their customers over this especially with good alternatives out there. Will never recommend again to any family or friends. - Goodbye from a user since Day 1.
agree… every January in the past 3+ years, Logmeout has hiked its priced. Many have migrated to Splashtop Business Access at $60 per year (for accessing 5 computers). Cost effective and higher performance.
