Some of our users are having issues with MS teams meeting transcripts and recordings.
Are the transcripts done locally with the Teams client/app on the user’s machines or by MS servers?

Some of the issues are for example:

  • It can either completely or partly omits the speech (entire sentences) from our Teams room console/external participants
  • places speech in the wrong timings for example if a meeting participant said something 5 minutes into the meetings, in the transcripts it might place it at 45 mins into the meeting/45 min time stamp.

The transcripts of meeting are not matching up with the recordings(no issues with the actual recording).
Is this something that I need to contact Microsoft about or is it a local Teams client issue/problem?

Considering everything Teams is pretty much all cloud at this point; I would contact Microsoft. The partial omission I could see being a local hardware issue if the speech wasn’t picked up clearly by the mic, but the transcript randomly placing conversations further into the meeting than when it was sent, I would imagine to be on Microsoft’s end.
