Been using Spiceworks for a long time, but Network Map has never been of any use. The reason? Every time I save a layout then click ‘edit’ it all reverts to a previous mess! Anyone found a fix for this?

4 Spice ups

Still no response? I’m also looking into this.

BobLV,

Let me know if you get a response… we are having the same issue over here.

This has been the same issue ever since the early versions of SW. I think this is the 3rd time I have asked for a solution. We have tried the usual, uninstall, re-install. Tried different save / save as etc. It’s just frustrating there is a great utility there that is, for us, worthless.

To fix the jumpled mess of your network maps, you need to have everything connected to a central device or cloud device. My network map has each subnet connected to a cloud device 0.0.0.0/0

It appears that spiceworks organizes the map for each set of connected devices in the center. If each subnet is connected to a single central device, spiceworks is able to display your network map in a readable fashion.

Edit your network map and add a “Connection to Device” to a central device for each subnet.

This fixed my issue. I have 4 locations, and I just joined each firewall to teh 0.0.0.0/0 cloud.

Created a new Save As file and life is good.

Hope this helps.
