Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let everyone know that we have officially released 1.4 with build 1.4.00255. You can find the final release here: www.spiceworks.com/download/monitor/app/ . Please note that 1.4.00255 won’t be uploaded to the beta button in the group.
I also wanted to thank everyone for the great response to the beta and for the feedback, we knocked out a lot of bugs during this release.
We’ll be continuing to hotfix 1.4 every week with bug fixes as we make them - so far the goal schedule is to upload a patch every Thursday, starting from the 11th. When hotfixes go live, we’ll be updating our release notes, which you can find here: https://community.spiceworks.com/blogs/network-monitor-release-notes
If you are encountering bugs in 1.4, please let me know about them below and I’ll work with you to see if we can confirm them and get them into a hotfix.
(Also, I’m working on changing the graphic in the group to show it’s released, it’s surprisingly difficult to do)
On the 1.5 front, we’re planning on doing a first pass on historical data and maintenance windows, and will be releasing betas as we get functionality complete. I can’t say when we’ll upload the first 1.5 beta, but it will probably be at least a month as we ramp up these 2 big features.

Great news
Currently running 1.4.00145…anything special i need to do to upgrade to 1.4.00255 and keep my devices and settings ?
Should be able to upgrade in place, let me know if you run into any weirdness at all. Upgrading is something we want to get absolutely right.

Should the upgrade also work on older versions ?
Keep it coming
I wouldn’t trust it to upgrade anything pre 1.3.140. Worst case is you try, it messes up, you uninstall and reinstall, which is what you’d need to do if you didn’t want to upgrade in the first place.
Tim…Pleased to say it upgraded without issue and kept all settings and devices

Nice, upgrading thanks
Excellent idea to change the graphic in the group to show it’s release, will be nice if you manage to pull it off.
system upgraded ok
only one device decided to still show services alerts of a program that I removed and I couldn’t get rid of the service alerts
removing the device and adding it back fixed the issue.
Upgrading has always been a pain for me. I can’t even find out where it says what version I am running.
Jim…when you log into dashboard…click settings…then look to bottom right of browser…itll list version of NM in the footer

I updated without issue, but I noticed a small glitch? maybe?
When I add a device to the online watchlist, I put in the IP, Device Name (optional) then the Check type. When added to my list, it displays the IP and not the Device name I entered. Is this correct?
@timgittos-spiceworks
Yeah, I don’t know how that broke, it was working the morning of the upload and then stopped working sometime after that. We’ll get it fixed for our first patch next Thursday.
Network Mon wont start. The page loads 90 % of circle around pepper then stalls… IDeas?
Hang tight, we’re uploading a fix for that as I type. I’ll post in the group when it’s done.
Will it be today? Just wondering so I can stick around the office and fix today
Thanks
I was uploading as I replied to you. Should be all done, so download the update and upgrade over the top.
Installed Update and update failed… heres the log

I’ll PM you to get the full upgrade logs.

I just updated to 1.4.00257. The upgrade appeared to go OK and the service started but when I opened the page I never got the full circle around the spice let alone the monitoring page. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Still didn’t work. So I uninstalled, moved the folder from program files, reinstalled then copied over the database backup before starting the new service. It now works. BUT!
For me, first impressions, it’s a slight backwards step. Even though I can see how the new online watch list might be handy for some, I don’t need it, (all the servers and devices I need to monitor are covered by servers and networking). I would like the option to turn it off and turn the other two critical monitoring widgets back on in place. I use this all day every day so I’ll let you know if I notice anything else.
RobT.
How do you dismiss the device alerts?
