Hello Again, Everyone. You may have seen my previous post on this topic, where the voting was very positive, but it also sparked some great feedback about areas where we could improve. In this version, we’ve taken your helpful feedback into account, and tried to address many of the community’s suggested improvements:
In this newer, hopefully better version, you will see that there are no original levels that were moved up in the chart, so zero “repeating” levels, which was the main objection we wanted to tackle. (We did move one of the levels down, and a couple others were removed completely so that we could keep the correlation with Scoville Heat Units.)
We also made the imaginary pepper levels a different color, to emphasize that Pure Capsaicin is still the ultimate reality, and the rest is more like an intangible dream that doesn’t make sense unless you are jumping off into some fiction.

I like that it ends at 42 since that’s the answer to everything.
If you enter the blue section, then I think you’ve replicated yourself in some kind of digital fashion. Maybe you’ve become a sentient being. Or you’re in the Matrix.
Maybe there’s a way to incorporate SpiceRex?

But we already have Scorpion on the list, right above Ghost, so if we did a Trinidad Rex, it would have to be one of the imaginary levels.

So, the levels go like this in the current system:
Jalapeno > Serrano > Chipotle
Scoville Heat Units for those three go like this:
J: 2,500-8,000 > S: 10,000-23,000 > C: 2,500-8,000
The Scoville Heat Units (SHU) just don’t work, and in the revision where we didn’t move anything up because of the feedback about “repeating” levels, the choice was to solve it by removing them rather than deleting the lower level peppers we would have to eliminate for them to keep their places (and leaving Serrano in the wrong place).
Edit: To give you an idea of where they would be on the new chart, by points, Jalapeno would need to be were Cascabel is, but by SHU it would be right in with Hatch and Chimayo. Serrano, by points would be where Chimayo is, but by SHU it would be where Hinkelhatz is.

Idea… Create a set of exclusive Spiceworks challenge coins and send them out to people when they reach certain levels. I’m not thinking of it where you’d have to mail out thousands of them. Make it exclusive enough so that you’re sending maybe a dozen each year and announce them at SpiceWorld. Just a thought.

I’m leaning towards yes to this new pepper point system. At least I don’t have to wait so long to get to Pure Cap. 
That is a bonus. @mike-eaton I do like the coin idea but definitely the cost wouldn’t work if you aren’t ordering in bulk. Maybe use a 3D printer? Maybe just an exclusive group on here for certain levels attained.
