What do all you Spiceheads think about the new updated site. What do you like/dislike about it.

I personally dislike it harder to get to the discussion page that you want.

I’m sure i will learn to like the new page by he end of next week

I like it, personally. It took me a few minutes to get used to, but it feels a lot cleaner.

I’m getting used to it, but there are some things I don’t like. I want the country flags to show without having to hover my mouse over the person and the peppers are gone (the peppers aren’t a huge deal. I can live with it.)

I like the look. Others are sounding off here as well.

That was the first thing I noticed, funny enough LOL I would like to see the peppers again

I like the new look, but I think they should autohide the Spiceworks bar at the top of the screen. It’s a nice grey color and I like the way it functions, but It’s a little wide and in the way.

Its going to take some getting used to.

I miss the dashboard link. It does not make sense to have Community, Inventory, Help Desk, and Purchasing but no Dashboard.

I find it takes longer to get to different discussions. The “bread crumb” trail was nice to back up levels. I’ll get used to it and be hating on the old look in a few months so either way.

Agents ROCK!!

I too found I miss the flags, since sometimes the talk is about … oh say the UK and I’d like to sort the responces by those in or out of the area. but what i miss ATM is the link/icon at the bottom for the “group” like Water cooler. I know WC is under non-IT but it is also a specific heading… I have to go “back” to the top to return to the WC list after reading all the posts.

I’ll adapt.

I may ramble on about the good old days for a while…

lol still no big complaints.

I love it! Big round of applause for the Spiceworks team. Great job on a nice clean new interface.

I think they did a great job. Love the out of the box functionality that just works with little intervention.

navigation lacking navigation but loving the sharp look…looks like cnet wordpress layouts or cnet css used ahem* copy rightÉ

I’m missing the link to the forum. It now takes too long to get back to the proper forum page, since the new link only takes you back to one showing 10 topics.

As others have said, please bring back the users national flag, and also the version of SW they started with.

If you wanted to improve the community, you could support widescreen monitors.

Don’t like the new “black bar” UI element. More mouse clicks to do the same tasks does not make a better UI. I know the “black bar” UI element is a popular Google thing, but in the case of SW 6 it doesn’t help. Also, trying to force the Community features first does not make a better UI. There should still be a Dashboard link on this new UI, that’s my most-used SW page. I am running SW 6 on a test machine, but am holding off “upgrading” to see what they do with subsequent releases. There are apparently some new SW services that are also unstable. I can report what these are the next time I see the error messages. I think one is a TFTP service and the other is related to the new offline agent technology. If anyone knows a log file I can check to see what’s crashing, that would help.

I like it. It is shiny, and as a girl, I was born to like shiny things.

You should contact support about your problems with SW6, so they can fix it and determine if there is a bug. You say you are waiting to go live on 6, but you haven’t reported the problems keeping it from being stable. How’s it going to get better if you don’t tell them?
