Well, once again the 2000s come up again. I thought Barry Manilow had repetitive lyrics till I listened to John Mayer. And some of the artist names,

Three 6 Mafia Featuring Project Pat, Young D & Superpower
Flyleaf
Flobots

Not sure what i was listening to in 2008, but it sure was not any of those groups.

Ah well, good thing I use the randomizer because otherwise this list this week would be blank. From highest charting to lowest, here are the five.

24-John Mayer “Say”

25-NeYo “Closer”

75-Usher “Moving Mountains”

95-Marvin Sapp “Never Would Have Made It”

99-Yael Naim “New Soul”

Here is the entire chart for the week Billboard Hot 100™

Pick a favorite, my pick is right here “this spot left intentionally blank”

Can’t participate this week because billboards website has suddenly started using anti ad-blocker tech, and I don’t disable my ad blocker for anyone.

My daughter was playing this in the car the other day, is it my favorite? No, but way better than some of the other crap that comes through her Spotify.

OK, I’m actually a bit surprised I even knew this many songs from this chart, but these are my favs.

  • Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love
  • OneRepublic - Stop and Stare
  • OneRepublic/Timbaland - Apologize
  • Jason Mraz - I’m Yours
  • Disturbed - Inside the Fire

I knew a lot more on the list, but for the most part, they just remind me of why I stopped listening to mainstream radio. As for Mr. Random’s picks, the only one I’d actually heard before was the John Mayer one, and it grinds my nerves. I actually rather enjoyed Yael Naim’s “New Soul”, though, and might give that one another listen or two. Thanks for sharing (as always)!
