Prcessing of Group Policy failed

Receiving error when trying to force Group policy update. Event ID is 1058:

“The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \domain removed\sysvol\domain removed\Policies{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\gpt.ini from a domain controller and was not successful. Group Policy settings may not be applied until this event is resolved. This issue may be transient and could be caused by one or more of the following”

I can navigate to the \Policies\ folder but {31B2F340…) is different than the folder that actually contains the GPT.ini file.

New to Group Policy so please be gentle

Sounds like your sysvol replication is working properly. Try running dcdiag and seeing what error you get: Dcdiag | Microsoft Learn

We have a problem server like this too.

We’ve resorted to manually updating the GPO folders outside of replication for the time being.
