Hello SpiceWorks Community.

Does any public school use spice works for auditing purposes. When the auditors come in and what to know what devices where purchased with grant money, school funds, etc, do you use spice works to produce that report and is it compliant with the auditors.

We do not. But you certainly could track it within Spiceworks. The auditors who visit us generally don’t care how we track it as long as we can demonstrate the we do track it and are able to produce the info.

Add a custom field and then add that into an inventory report. No reason why Spiceworks can’t handle it, our auditors only care about getting the reports in Excel, they don’t ask where it came from or how it was generated.

I have implemented SpiceWorks 2 days ago into production. Still resolving some issues but I will use it for auditing because it has done great overview of almost all network systems.

I installed and have been using Spiceworks for 4 months now in anticipation of an audit. I will be using this to track down where a machine is to show proof of proper inventory management.

We do not. Probably because it has not come up.

I’ll certainly suggest it to our business manager.

As others have pointed out the capability is certainly there.

Wish I’d thought of it.

echoing limey on this one - we create a custom field called funding source that serves as a listing of what grants, funding that the devices are tied to.

I’m with David on this one, we haven’t yet but something I’m looking towards in the near future…
