I am wondering if there is a way to add a user to helpdesk but only to have it set up so they can only add content to the user portal. We have the user portal set up and have different departments on there and we want the person that is over every department to be able to have access to add content to their department on the user portal. Is there a way to do this without giving them full access like what the IT department has?

The permissions are not currently this granular in Spiceworks.
So basically if a user is added to spiceworks to be able to manage the user portal they will have to be admin like the way we are set up in IT?
At this time yes, you could use plugins to further restrict access, but the closest you could come is allowing access to all of the user portal (and that plugin hasn’t been written yet afaik)
It’s been nearly a year. Any update on this, by chance?
