Currently I am using LogMeIn Pro with Central, but I will have a lot of more clients, so the price is starting to go up.

I was looking at Bomgar, and I like it a lot, but it is lacking the one-to-many feature, and I actually use it a lot to deploy updated files.

Most of the computers are remote, spanning 5 states in the east coast, so I need something reliable that I can use.

We also use DeepFreeze to lock the computers.

We do not need the remote application to do updates (DeepFreeze handles that)

I am about to test ScreenConnect as well.

While testing Bomgar, though I realized that to work around the file deployment I would have to have the remote clients connect to FTP to download updated files (I update wallpapers, scripts, etc), but at that point, then why not use LogMeIn Free instead since we already have Central.

I did like the option though, that I can connect to Android, IOS, Linux and that a remote person can initiate a session.

We only have 2 technicians, but at the moment I have 40 Pro licenses, and I am adding 30 more computers.

5 Spice ups

I use site-to-site VPNs and VNC to remote in with RDP as a backup.

Not for all platforms but for windows server environment, I can suggest our FREE remote admin tool ( Lepide - Software Not Available ) that can also be a good approach to manage the networks remotely.

Okay, maybe my company is just grandfathered in but, for us We just pay the LogMeIn Central Fee and only pay for Pro for every technician that uses it, you don’t need a Pro License for Every computer.

dehcbad25, you should check out R-HUB’s TurboMeeting. Like Bomgar, R-HUB sells servers but our servers start at just $1495, though a remote support server for 300 devices would cost you $2495. http://www.rhubcom.com/ offers a free trial. PM me if you have any additional questions, or if you want an unlimited trial account. Any and all feedback is welcome!

We used to use Fog Creek Copilot extensively here to provide remote support to our customer base. Our new phone system came with a similar type of feature so we did move away from it but if we had not replaced our phones we would probably still be using it.

If you needed to access it while nobody was there they do have a “One Click” option that can do that but I didn’t make extensive use of that since we generally wouldn’t touch a customers computer while they where not there.

The file transfer was slow enough that I would use something else to move files to a remote machine but for a quick screen share it worked quite well in most situations.

Hi David, How many computers are you managing? Splashtop Business for Remote Support could be a cost effective solution for you. Pricing chart below… not that the price includes free secondary user for remote access.

over 10k Central customers have moved to Splashtop Business… Splashtop Business for Remote Support is priced below Central Basic, yet includes Central Plus feature sets (file transfer, etc.). free trial available… Splashtop Remote Support | Computer Access & Management for MSPs
