Hi all,

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
Inherited this printer and discovered when setting it up that the screen just stays on the Samsung logo, making it unusable.
The printer still works via Samsung Easy Print and I can scan items as well.

From some Googling, this leads me to believe it has some corrupted firmware. I see mention of needing to flash the recovery/base firmware onto it, but I can’t find where to download the actual firmware (HP only have the current one, not the base or recovery firmware), so hoping someone on here is able to direct me to a download for it, or possibly has the file themselves.

Thanks in advance.

Current firmware should be available on Samsung’s website, along with instructions on how to factory-reset even without access to the main menu (power off, hold the correct button at power-on I believe). If they don’t, do you have support from a 3rd party hardware provider by chance?

Go to https://support.hp.com/us-en/printer-setup, and under “Select your support need:” choose Troubleshoot printer issues. Enter the product name, then click on Software and Drivers, and download the firmware file.

Don’t think the HP site is going to work for a Samsung printer??

Probably should have mentioned I’ve tried flashing the current firmware from HP’s site onto it but it will only get so far before freezing.

HP acquired Samsung’s printer business some time ago and now provide their support. Around 2016-2017ish.

But to have the from-factory firmware?

As far as an official source goes. They’d have it if anyone does.

Sadly most of the Samsung team seems to have been abandoned after the take over. I have the HDD images for most of the bigger MFP products but nothing in the lower line.

Hello all, I came across one more discussion where @Repairatrooper suggests finding the correct Recovery UI file and copying it to the root directory on a USB flash drive, and then inserting that key into the USB slot.

Check out: printer logo freeze on screen

yes, but the challenge is finding the UI file.
