Hi,

I have 20 workstations which run a particular software. The scan has picked up 15 of the installations. The remaining 5 installions are there and functioning, but rescanning them does not add that software. I’m not sure what else to try.

Thanks!

2 Spice ups

Hi Doug Shaneyfelt,

Is Spiceworks picking up all information except for one program or not picking up anything?

It’s just the one program that i know of so far. They do report other software though. I did have a couple of those stations report it today that had not before, i was happy to see that, but I’m wondering why an immediate scan of the stations did not pull it up. I notice when i attempt a rescan of an individual station it happens very fast, i wonder if it’s really doing anything.

At this point i’m a little nervous that software reporting would be inaccurate, is there a certain amount of time (or scans) that need to take place before reporting can be trusted?

This reply was edited a few times this morning. Hopefully that did not send a bunch of emails to your inbox.

Thanks again

Sometimes Windows software will not register itself correctly, and this has the effect of the software not being visible in the Add/Remove Programs list. Is this what is happening?

I just verified the program is listed in add/remove programs on one of the non-reporting stations.

Now today, two of the stations that had started reporting the software are no longer reporting it.
