I work for a university and I’m in the process of setting up Spiceworks (at our colocation facility) and remote collectors at our campuses to pull local inventory infomation to our central server.
When I log into our central server and go to Inventory → Scan, the bottom of the Scan Overview page lists a Scan Range Breakdown. Initially, it showed only the IP address range for the site where the central server is located (we had originally set it up to scan its subnet before we moved to the remote collectors).
I like the display of the Scan Range Breakdown and would like to see it for all subnets that are being scanned university-wide by the remote collectors. Adding a new range on our central server will display the Scan Range Breakdown for the added subnet but I suspect it is now duplicating the scanning that is being done by the remote collector (don’t want the duplicity of effort).
Is there a way to have the Scan Range Breakdown for all of our campus’ subnets displayed on our central server without having it duplicate the inventory scanning being done by each of the campus remote collectors?
Thanks in advance.

To display all ranges on a Central server I think the Central server actually have to scan those ranges. So no, I do not think what you want to do is possible at the moment.
Also the remote collector-thingy is not working as it should in the current version (ore the last 3-4 patches), and we are still waiting for a fix.
