See attached screen shot. This is all that happens, it used to show a percentage for each device as it was scanning. I have tried bouncing my server, removed a few devices from SW and manually rescanned them, no luck. Any ideas?

It takes a while to scan the systems in. Are you waiting longer than 20-30 minutes? The bar should move.

I have had, depending on the time of day that scan take over an hour depending on the range I was using. I would try refreshing the page as well just to see if it has moved, but definitely give it time.

I have a group of about 150 devices set to scan tomorrow early a.m. I will report back with the results.

What I have discovered is most of the devices that are grouped as “Not Scanned in 30 Days” have a different IP address now. If I manually scan the new IP address the device updates in SW. Any idea why SW would have a problem with scanning devices that have changed IP’s?
I would assume stale DNS entries?

If I ping the devices in question from SW they resolve to the new address.

IP addresses are of no consequence to Spiceworks. The heaviest weighted item in your database is the serial number. Check that the devices aren’t duplicated, that their firewall settings are correct (follow this guide ) and that the AV isn’t blocking. Post a screen shot of one of these problem systems’ Unknown Assistant Tool (from the fix page).

She attached screen shot. Capture1 is the record in SW. Notice the ip address is 10.220.3.18 which is not the current address, current address is 10.220.2.24. If I delete the record and rescan the device with its current ip address it scans back into SW without error. Nothing has changed with this asset except for its IP address. I check my DNS server, no stale records.

Grey, devices aren’t duplicated, not a firewall issue, deleting and rescanning device fixes issue. I don’t understand why SW is having problems with machines that renew their ip’s at the end of the set lease time.
