Spiceworks will get the software installed, you will need to scan all your devices to get this list.
If you need a specific audit for PCI or similar you need something like Snow inventory manager which also enables you to put licenses in and audit licenses

Yes sorry I am noob using spiceworks platform. I have scanned for desktops/laptops software and I see about half of installed software showing up. I have rescanned particular machine that I am wanting to do software audit and nothing yet comes up. Any ideas?
Thanks!

If any of the software is not an installer based install, comes from the store or runs without installation (e.g. it does not show in add/remove programs) you can’t inventory it.
What sorts of applications are missing?
If SW is picking up some of them, it should pick up the rest unless the above is true

Hi,
Thanks for links. We are using 3rd party antivirus program. I see Spiceworks Unknown Assistant program which will make necessary changes to allow remote connections to my networked computers which are not discoverable.
Will these changes that the unknown assistant make the computers more vulnerable to virus and malware??
Thanks

Ah, you mean you can only scan half the computers, not half the software list.
No, opening the ports will not change the devices to be more vulnerable.
Ensure you can ping the devices and file and printer sharing is on, this usually helps find most.
