I have Spiceworks 7.5.00087. I find that like others, my Last scan date has not updated (since April 2016). I am also having problems getting the software inventory to update. Removed software is still listed. New software is not listed.

I have changed scan settings to slow, upload all data vs delta, etc… and rebooted my server. I’ve verified the firewall settings on my workstations, triggered both individual and complete network scans. Nothing has resolved the issue yet.

Any other suggestions?

I’m stuck in the mud until this is resolved.

I’ve read mention of a bug in version 7.5.x. Any basis to this rumor? Any projected solutions?

Thanks for any assistance.

If machines are not actually being scanned, what changed on the clients or the network.

Was IDS/IPS enabled somewhere, was a client firewall turned on or was the default windows one replaced?

Hardware seems to be getting updated, but the Last scan date is not updated. No known changes in network or firewalls. Specific PCs that I’m using to track software inventory updates have had no name or OS changes, only critical updates (Window 10).

The bug mentioned in 7.5 regarding software was that updates weren’t reflected in the timeline, but they were happening.

If your last scan date is not updated, it does imply the device isn’t being scanned - it could be that your scans are backing up and/or taking too long to complete and dying before they finish. Have you tried to scan an individual device manually? Also, how many devices do you have and how reasonable are your group scan schedules?

Jackie got a reply in before I could, but my questions would have be similar.

And while you say nothing has changed, something seems to have otherwise your scan times would update.
