This is currently only a problem with “Google Chrome” since it does not update the column “Installed On” when it upgraded via the browser “Help” – “About Google Chrome”.

Due to all the recent vulnerabilities with web browsers & flash which is built into Chrome it’s been hard work trying to find which desktops have upgraded.

I assume you just scan “Install Date” column to speed up detection as checking all the columns/values would take longer.

I tested this by upgrading Firefox & Chrome and waiting for the “All Devices Complete Inventory” to be completed @ midday which updated the “Firefox” version/details in “Software” but left “Chrome” Not updated/untouched.

I left it for many days running scheduled scan but still no change I even ran manual scan via “My Network” – “Scan” but that didn’t change the value the only solution is to do a “Rescan” on the device & that solved it temporarily until Chrome updated again.

On my PC I updated “Firefox” it a few days ago but it still shows the old version in “Software” section
Opened Spiceworks & selected “My Network” - “Scan”
Select “Re-scan Network”
This does not fix the issue.
Currently the only solution is selecting the PC & selecting “Tools” = “Rescan” & that works
I made sure that the PC group was added to “Settings” - “Inventory” - “Device Scanning” under All Devices.
I did notice that “Show Settings” that “Enable Scheduled Scanning” was disabled could this have caused the the “All Devices” scan not to run?
(I have just now enabled this setting & also “Scanner sends all data instead of deltas” as someone mentioned that could fix my issue)
Please let me know how to fix it & if I need these two options enabled
Thanks

This is the quest way, enabling schedule scans should be enabled if you want to automatically scan devices.
What version are you on? 7.5.0063 is the latest.
Spiceworks Version 7.5.00057 going to upgrade soon though
Thanks just not sure how “Enable Scheduled Scanning” got disabled maybe during an upgrade somewhere or something
Do I also need “Scanner sends all data instead of deltas” enabled too or the above should be enough?

There was 1 update where this was disabled, it wasn’t meant to be it was just an oversight - you should be ok with just the enabled option on
