Afternoon Everyone,
I’ve been put in charge of three small companies infrastructures.
First task was to ensure security and segregate the networks.

Regardless, I would like a single server to manage all three networks.

If I placed a Windows server with spiceworks and network monitor router side (Between router and firewall) would I be able to create rules to scan the different ranges and open the firewalls to allow the scans?

The firewalls are ClearOS boxes (So they run ClearOS firewall)

To note all three firewalls run OpenVPN’s so maybe the machine could have VPN connections to these boxes and scan the network from there?

Network monitor does not scan, it collects based on the IPs you add, the two products should not be installed on the same server and not on windows 10.

Spiceworks inventory can use remote collectors, install one in each sites location then allow them to talk back to your main DB, but be aware IP conflicts and DNS names over multiple sites could be the same

Ah I see so its not one massive application its collectors that send information back to a central database,
Sorry about that I’ve totally misunderstood what I read.

Thankfully all IP’s and DNS Names are different on different sites so thats fine.

I might just give it a go and see what happens.

Network monitor is one application
Spiceworks desktop, which encompasses inventory and helpdesk is another.

Network monitor is for live monitoring or specifically added IPs.

Inventory is for collecting information on devices - one remote collector should be installed at each of your sites with a connection back to the central site.

Spiceworks inventory and network monitor do not talk to each other, they are separate applications.
