I seeing some confusing things on machines running the SW Agent. It appears that the agent is reporting updated software installations, but when I look at the device in the inventory it shows that the last scan date was months ago, some over a year old. THe last update is usually current, but because of the scan date they show up in the Last Scan > 30 Days group. Any clues as to what’s going on with this?

3 Spice ups

Hi,

If you go to the device, and hit “rescan”, does it get scanned in properly? Does the last scan date change?

The last updated time changes, but not the last scan time.

Last Updated Time:2016-04-18 @ 12:02 pm

Last Scan Time:2015-09-18 @ 03:22 pm

The odd part about it is that the coffee cup report flagged software that got installed last week, and it shows up if you look at the software inventory for the machine, but the Last Scan Time didn’t change.

What version of Spiceworks are you on? What version of the agent do you have installed?

7.5.00074 Spiceworks, agent reports 7.5.8.0

Hi,

Thanks for this information. We have a bug logged (#76383) regarding this. It looks like remote agents are not updating the Last Scan Time properly right now. Our devs are working on getting this fixed, but I dont have an exact date for you right now.

OK. Hopefully others are also pressing for this but please consider a couple of things in it’s prioritization.

It appears it’s been broken since last September, since most of my agent based machines report a last scan date of 9/18/2015.

I have several hundred agent based machines in the field which cannot be scanned, the agent is the only option for information.

I’d love an update on status when there’s more info available.

Thanks
