Hi,

I have an issue with some scans. WMI seems to be working as expected but when entering the domain admin credentials it still says it does not work. On another network when I do the same it says yup it worked and then says re scanning but goes back to failed authentication.

Any ideas?

Hey Tahir,

First, I’d check out our Unknowns Tool to see if if helps:

http://community.spiceworks.com/help/Spiceworks_Unknowns_Tool

If everything looks well there, I’d double-check DNS to see if anything unusual is going on:

How do I add login accounts for remote sites? A lot of our remote sites use the same address ranges as each other for example our network is on 192.168.16.1-254 and our remote sites tend to also use the same ranges, can this cause problems?

Hey Tahir,

Hmm, I’m pretty sure you’d need to change up the subnets in order to manage all of those in the same Spiceworks installation. To be honest, I’ve never tried that setup before but I imagine you’d see duplicate devices and some other inconsistencies.

Hmm… this doesn’t seem to be a problem with other monitoring software we have tested like N-Able. At present all seems to be working as expected so will see what other issues arise.
