I cannot get Spiceworks to collect the software inventory of any of my linux servers. I get general and hardware configuration information but not software. How do I get the software to inventory on linux?

If this is the wrong forum - then - How do I get support?

Spiceworks has an awesome support staff. They’ve helped me a bunch of times! Check out the link below!

What distros of linux?

I have redhat, ubuntu and centos

Have you supplied the SSH credentials to the machines?

Yes - I have supplied the SSH credentials and get hardware data so I believe they are correct

Please see: http://community.spiceworks.com/help/How_Does_The_Scan_Work#Port

Sup?

Find this in Settings → Network Scan → Stored Passwords

Just kidding.

We don’t have a telephone number, if that’s what you’re looking for. Either post in our Support Forum or send us an email to support@spiceworks.com!

Thanks jstear but I don’t see any helpful information on the page

It just backs up the need to use port 22 (SSH) to gather information.

Yes I have completed the SSH credentials and the WMI credentials

Is this the same issue you were having previously? http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/606744-software-scan-fails-on-linux

If so, that is critical information.

Shoot an email over to support@spiceworks.com and an engineer will show you how to send your log files. This looks like a bigger issue than a simple click.

Yes - but - nobody answered that issue - even after I uploaded the spiceworks package data

Hey Phil,

Check your email again. I see that your ticket is currently assigned to Matt and that he emailed you a response exactly 3 minutes ago.
