find someone to take you on, even as a trial. in IT a lot of it is experience and also know-how. know how to find the answers

by all means work on the certifications, but don’t rely on this only, you need the experience, help desk is probably the fastest way of getting your hands dirty and getting started.

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

I would recommend trying to get hired now. Maybe go in for help desk/desktop to start- but let them know that you’re really interested in networking.

Have you got any experience?

{"@type":"Person
davidg
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/davidg"}},{"@type":"Answer

I realised that i was underselling myself so decided to give it up and have a completely new career path in something i love. im currently half one through ICND1 then have ICND2 to complete to gain my full accreditation

{"@type":"Person
jaythomas3
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/jaythomas3"}},{"@type":"Answer

Starting at help desk/desktop support is probably the way to go initially. Get your hands dirty, get your certs, and then move up the ranks.

{"@type":"Person
sparkrdom
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/sparkrdom"}},{"@type":"Answer
