I have several remote gathering sites and I’m having trouble recieving software information from some of the computers. I ran a software report yesturday morning and found only 1 computer with any software reported. Later I ran it and found 3 computers and I’ve stopped at that number. This remote site has been up for about a month as well and I thought I had all of the software being recognized before but I could be wrong. Any ideas what to do and how to fix this.

I think I went from 1 to 3 by running scan after scan manually but I seem to be stuck now.

2 Spice ups

Do you have any scan errors?

No, all computers that have this issue have no scan errors and report all of the other information without a problem.

Thanks for the link but I have done all of the steps except sending in my log file. It is still not pulling the information and the log file doesn’t show any errors or help as far as I can tell. Any other help or should I send my log fine in next?

I had this issues with remote sites that I did not have a local spiceworks server at. For examples, Remote site A (where the remote collector is installed) is also scanning its sub office B and reporting both offices back to the central site.

The only way I could fix it was to make a desktop at suboffice B a remote collector as well.

If Mike3277`s post wil help you, you have a problem with your bandwidth. Otherwise try to fix your WMI settings at the affected workstations (Setting The Default WMI Namespace Security , Rebuild WMI - Script Center , Resolving Spiceworks Unknowns Unofficial - Script Center )

I don’t think MIke’s idea really fits. The remote collector is right there onsite with the computer that are having trouble. I turned off the remote collector and did it locally and the software was discovered. Any ideas why it is not being transfered to the main spice works server?

Disable remote collector mode, delete the inventory of the remote collector, make it again to remote collector and wait for scheduled network scan.

I’m noticing this more and more with remote sites. If I disable remote collector and run it locally I get all of the information. Once I get it back to a remote collecter and rebuild the inventory it is hit or miss what computers if any have software information.

Hiya

Did you get this sorted?

Could you mark best answer and any helpful posts?
