Alright, so today is Friday and I don’t know how busy any of you might be but I just thought that i’d ask a curious question to see what kind of answers I got back?

So! If you could have any super power that you can think of, what would it be!? And why?!

manipulate time, if you can manipulate the flow if time/time travel you can mimic/present the appearance of having most of the other common powers.

Omnipotence.

I will then have the ability to provide myself with all other powers I could require. Such as the omniscience, invisibility, and the ability to turn sheets of paper into perfectly cooked bacon at will.

The ability to always have perfect timing. Because timing is everything. As far as I have been told, I have yet to experience it myself.

The ability to cure mental illness.

I work in a special needs school and I would give a lot to be able to help out some of the kids. Most of them are kind, well behaved and tolerant, but with an invisible switch which means that they will be totally unemployable, find in virtually impossible to have a meaningful relationship with a peer or find a partner, be forever encountering police, courts, social workers and health professionals. I spend my days alternately being amazed at their kindness and generosity and ducking and avoiding the flying fists, feet and spittle.

Telekenesis. I would be like the guy from Chronicle. Well, except I wouldn’t get killed in the end. But if I could move things with my mind, and also make myself fly, then I don’t need to work anymore really.

Or, the teleportation thing from Jumper, for the same reason. If I can do that, working is no longer a necessity.

I have no inkling to be a superhero, I just want to never have to work again.

it would be a tose up between invisibility and time travel. Either way i would use both to make loads of money so that i didnt have to wait for 5pm on a friday for a couple of days off, i wouldnt work at all lol

Side note, Its a bit cheesy to ask for some way to have “all the powers”!

Its a bit like using your one Genie in the bottle wish to get 3 more wishes.

Not everyone with “mental illness” loses out because of it, so if you ever get the power, use it responsibly :stuck_out_tongue:

Technically I would come under that category (as explained by you) as I have Dyspraxia, which is classed as “disability” however due to developing coping strategies when I was young, I think I am actually better developed in many areas because of it (math, language, technical skills) and only really lose out on the social aspects, such as conversational cues, or picking the wrong time to say something.

Most instances of Genie Bottles have rules against more wishes.

None of them say my second wish can’t be “I wish for you to lose the ability to remember that you have granted me more than one wish”.

Going to go with the old standby of invisibility. Hard for people to make me work if they can’t find me. Although, I guess being supernaturally attractive would be more useful in today’s society. Of course, being extremely wealthy has worked out well for Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne.

Does this assume that we will all get the super power that all heroes seem to have of being able to sew incredibly well? I mean, I don’t think I’d need it, but they all must have it. How else would they all have such perfectly-fitted, durable outfits?
