It’s now possible to switch account ownership to another Admin. Under Employee Administration on the Settings page, click the edit button next to the person you want to transfer ownership to, then click the Convert to Owner button.

Our “owner” has left the company. I would like to take over the role but the OWNER button is not there as described above, only Tech or Admin. What am I missing?

I too need to know how to do this. I figured this would be a vicious circle of the owner has left, but only the owner has access to the setting that needs to be changed. This needs to be addressed!!

Rob, what excuse do you have for ignoring all of these people?

I don’t see that option either. The owner has left. You don’t even bother to specify in your post that apparently the existing owner is the only one who can change the owner to someone else? So, I will need to reset his password, after getting control of his email address, and login as him, in order to change the owner?

This account has been locked, so possibly no longer an employee.

This is still a problem, did it ever get an answer??

If you are able to login to the current Owner account, you can follow these steps

  • Settings
  • Employee Administration
  • Click Edit on the user you want to be the new owner
  • Role Drop down > Owner
  • Save
    This transfers ownership, it does not create two owners.
    In my case it converted the oringinal owners account to an Administrator account, and then could be deleted.
