We have about 15 remote sites collecting data at remote locations. All are working fine with the exception of one.

The remote site in question finds nothing to scan on the IP ranges it’s been given and has a constant Remote Site Status of “Getting remote collection status”. However, the remote site seems to authenticate with the central controller with no issue when I save Remote Site settings or enable/disable Remote Site mode.

I am able to remotely access this remote site’s web interface by HTTPS, so it certainly seems that port 443 is open (which is the secure HTTP port that the central server is using).

I’ve tried completely removing and then reinstalling the Spiceworks client on this remote PC, as well as turning Remote Site Mode off and on (it still finds no devices when trying to scan with Remote Site Mode turned off).

The PC that the faulty remote site is installed on is running the same image as all of the PCs that the working Remote Sites are on.

Any ideas?

Have you tried another sniffer?

Could you elaborate a bit on what you mean by that?

Spiceworks also has a WMI Fix batch file you can try running.

Completely uninstalled the remote site installation again and installed latest version of Spiceworks (7.1.00036), ran a scan…now inventorying devices. Set to remote site mode…now working fine.

Thanks for the suggestions, though!
