I have recently setup a new spiceworks central server and am re-configuring all my remote collectors to look at the new server. During this I am also installing a new version of spiceworks on these remote collectors (version 7.1.00012). I know with the version i was previously using (6.2.00919) you were able to log on the the remote collector and change scan settings by going to Settings>Network Scan. With the new version, it looks completely different and I am unable to locate where these settings changes are to be made. Can anyone help me with this? I am not wanting to have all my 76 remote sites talking back to the main site at the same time. Thanks in advance

I see what you mean. The Central Server has, within the network scan page, a Schedules section, that does not appear on the remote collectors. The Schedules section allows you to set what time a full scan occurs, but without it, all you can do is tell it to scan ever x hours…
Maybe submit a feature request. They’ve been very good at implementing features we ask for.

The only solution I came up with was to assign scan times for groups from my central server. You no longer have the ability to schedule scans from the remote collectors.

You kind of can. From the scan page on your remote server, expand Additional Network Scan Settings at the bottom and set “Enable schedule per network search range” = true. This will at least let you scan the frequency of when they scan. But not allow you to have the granularity you require.
