I am running Spiceworks 7.300027 on both my central server and remote server. The remote server is communicating with the central server, however I am unable to successfully inventory devices detected at the remote site.
The remote Spiceworks installation is sitting on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard AD-DC. The central server displays the detected devices on the remote network, however all attempts to inventory these devices has failed.
Here’s the strange part, if I login to the Spiceworks installation at the remote site then go to ‘Settings > Network Scan’, I have my WMI credentials saved (which is the COMPANY\Administrator account) and below the ‘Description’ field it says “Successfully used on these devices:” and lists multiple hostnames, BUT none of which are successfully inventoried in the central installation.
On the central installation I have attempted to manually enter credentials for each “Unknown” device, however it just returns “Nope. Didn’t work.” when I’m positive they are correct.
So just save a little time here; yes, WMI is running on all workstations, all workstations are connected to the domain, and the remote Spicework installation says, “Scan data from this site, [REMOTE SITE], is being sent securely to [CENTRAL SERVER].”
Any ideas on what I can do to troubleshoot and resolve this?

Hi Sam,
If you separate the 2 installs, and just have them running as stand alone, will the devices in the remote site scan successfully? Or do they also show up as unknowns?
I was trying to avoid having to separate them to troubleshoot the issue, but I might have to. There is no indication that it wouldn’t work as a standalone installation as I have had plenty success with the standalone installations I’ve done so far. This is the first remote site I have attempted. I will give it a try and post my findings.
