I updated my SpicwWorks Network Monitor install to beta 4 and it wouldn’t start.<\/p>\n
Uninstalled SWNM and reinstalled - Started but said all my devices are already registered but none showed up anywhere.<\/p>\n
Uninstalled again and deleted c:\\program files\\spiceworks folder. - Reinistalled.<\/p>\n
All is working now.<\/p>\n
This is on a purpose built VM with Win 2012R2 server and no other software installed. Thanks, Todd. I think you’ve hit two separate issues. One was already known, so I logged a defect for the second.<\/p>\n
First, upgrades aren’t supported. The installer should have just failed recognizing that a previous beta is there.<\/p>\n
Second, the uninstall didn’t properly clean up everything, so when you installed the second time it was using data that was left behind and it’s not smart enough to do that yet (which is why the installer shouldn’t allow upgrades.)<\/p>\n
I logged a defect.<\/p>\n
