We have a Xerox Versant 180 printer. The network scanning function was working great until a week and half ago. All of a sudden it was asking for a login and password. This was saved in the network scanning settings for over 2 years now. I have created new scan settings. But still not working.

The EFI server scan settings were working too but now it is also asking for a name and password.

Our local Xerox dealer can’t seem to fix it either. Is there a way to reset the printer hardware back to factory settings?

Thanks.

Where is the network share that the scan sends the documents too? Does that require an AD user to access? In the past when i have set this up we used a dedicated AD account for this purpose.

The network share is on a Windows 2012 R2 server. An AD user name and password is supplied in the settings. This worked 2 weeks ago. The scanning does function in the Fiery scan settings. It just does not function in the print engine scan settings (Centreware). I’ve tried just sharing a basic folder from a Windows 10 computer as well.

I did find a post, on the internet, about how if the default scan settings are changed in the print engine, then print engine scanning will not work nor would the Fiery scan settings too. I fixed that and now at least the Fiery scan settings function.
