Hello,

I need a recommendations for Video Conferencing Hardware/software that won’t break the bank for two conference rooms that fit about 20 people each.

I am the de facto “IT person” in my office and was put in charge to procure video conferencing hardware. I don’t have any background in this and our MSPs aren’t very reliable. We are still a “startup” so I don’t have a huge budget, however, the hardware/software needs to work globally, since we have offices in Shanghai, NYC, Seattle, California, and Washington DC. CA and the Shanghai are the largest and biggest concern.

We currently use the Logitech VC Group Hardware with GoToMeeting and it doesn’t work well, is super complicated when trying to help our China team troubleshoot, and I look like an idiot when it doesn’t work. I would love recommendations. Thanks!

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

We use the Logitech Meetup Camera for ours. They have audio and video built in and provide a great view of the room.

{"@type":"Person
pbrain
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/pbrain"}},{"@type":"Answer

If you want super low budget- we have mini PC ($100ish) hooked up to a TV along with a Logitech Camera (I think the wideangle one was like $70?) and a Cisco conferencing phone. We’ve used all sorts of different software, but particularly we’ve used Zoom for hosting video conferences. Gets the job done!

{"@type":"Person
rachelburch
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/rachelburch"}},{"@type":"Answer

@Logitech Video Collaboration has some solid hardware. I’m currently using @Cisco MC series hardware and it works well and lasts for quite some time, but it a bit pricey. As for software, we’ve been using @Zoom for about a year and have been much happier with that than WebEx (which was causing us all kinds of issues and struggled with support to find a resolution).

As for sizing of hardware, I believe there is a sizing guide that Logitech offers, but I can’t seem to find it. I did find this video that might help.
