If you’ve ever seen the The Office (US), you might remember (arguably one of the best episodes) when Stanley gets to celebrate Pretzel Day. Who can forget Stanley’s iconic quote:

“I wake up every morning in a bed that’s too small, drive my daughter to a school that’s too expensive, and then I go to work to a job for which I get paid too little, but on Pretzel Day? Well, I like Pretzel Day.”

Everyone has that special day that feels like a personal holiday, but that’s not an official holiday.
It can be work related or non-work related, just a day that you particularly look forward to all year long…so, what’s your “Pretzel Day”? :pretzel:

Okay, I’ll go!
I’m in this plant stand group, think free neighborhood library, but with plants. And every year there’s a birthday meet-up for the plant stand. I look forward to growing plants to share and swap and especially adding new plants to my collection.

I look forward to growing and photographing my plants but a recent incident where a couple of brats in the neighbourhood tore out some of my tulips, so I am currently in a bit of a funk about that. Worse than the kids was dealing with the parents/guardians who tried to minimize the whole issue and refused to pay for the damage. Anyone who has grown tulips will know that you plant in the fall and then say a little prayer that things will work out and then watch in the spring as they peek out and eventually release their majestic blooms.

Chuck Norris’s birthday on March 10th. Favorite joke - in a fight between Batman and Superman, who would win? Chuck Norris.

@Tamara-Spiceworks Do you mean your birthday? Veterans Day? Work Anniversary Day? It used to be whenever I placed in my age group when I did a 5K.

Mine is International Tuba Day! Celebrated the first Friday in May - it far out-shadows any other holiday in the first week of May!

Remember, polka is for more than just dots!

Ugh, I’m sorry to hear that about your tulips!

We had a landlord that tromped through my bulb beds once to trim some trees and I think honestly it’s what inspired me to finally want to buy a house.

I’m really sorry that happened to your plants. The fact that it was intentional makes really sad, because I totally understand how it goes. You watch them peek out from the ground after months and grow a tiny bit each day. Hope they bloom and here we have to hope they don’t get too baked in the sun!

Oh my goodness! I’m adding this to my calendar!
I grew up watching that Texas Ranger. :glowing_star:

It’s totally that feeling. A birthday feeling when it’s not your birthday! That’s an awesome accomplishment and I bet it rocks!

I am sooooo glad I asked this question. This is amazing! Now fighting the urge to blast some polka. Did you play the tuba? I played trumpet and loved watching the tuba row maneuver their sousaphones.

That’s a true friend right there, someone who really gets you. **

May 4th every year. Because Star Wars. Also the 5th but it is an extension of the 4th.

Is spring springing where you are? Would love to see photos!

Here are a few of mine from this weekend. I basically spent the entire weekend out in the garden. Still so much to do!

I did play Tuba! Started on euphonium (four valves), but the marching band needed more Sousaphones, so I switched. That was a hard summer, learning to march with a (thankfully fiberglass) Sousaphone and trying to get my embouchure to get down another octave! Thus began my love affair with Tubas!
