We would like to start tinkering with deploying SpiceWorks to our clients. We are an MSP. Is it better to have a SpiceWorks install at each client site and have it report back to our spiceworks? Or is it better to deploy an agent at each client site?
Can we use the agent to scan their network remotely? Or do we need the full SpiceWorks install?

The agent is only going to report on the machine that it is installed on, it will not do a remote network scan.
You would want to install SpiceWorks at each client site and have it report back to your SpiceWorks. My personal preference would be to do this over a secure VPN to each client site, but you can do it with HTTPS over the Internet as well.
