So after joining Spiceworks from virtually the beginning (first meeting was in a pub at Kings Cross in London) It is time to say goodbye.
My company have decided to move the whole of IT back to one of our parent companies, meaning that we will no longer be using the fantastic application that is Spiceworks. It has been a real pleasure and an honour seeing Spiceworks grow over the years and personally we have loved every minute. The Spiceworld conferences in London were excellent and I got to meet some wonderful people.
What is going to happen to my team and I, we don’t know but it has been one hell of a ride.

Hi Rick, definitely understandable. Just remember, while you may not use the application anymore, the Community is always here in case you need help or just want to talk with others and share jokes (and headaches).
Also, wishing you and your team the best! Let us know how that goes.

You don’t need to use the product to stay in the community. I haven’t used SW helpdesk in 4 years.
Wherever you end up, this community is open to you.
Hope it all works out.

I have never used the product but am still a member of the community. Just hang around on the web and join me in making smart-aleck comments in the Water Cooler.

Our company just switched to something else as well, bit out of my hands. I still come here daily to learn and laugh! Hope to see you around here still!

Only used the product for about 18 months in 2008, been a community member ever since. No need to leave - hang around, have a drink, sample the cheese

As others have already written, letting the Spiceworks tools go does not imply that you may not stay in our community. And also SpiceCorps meetings are not limited to those using Spiceworks tools.

Yep, as other have said, no reason to leave. I am here for the People not the product. The People in the Community have helped me and made my job easier, more bearable then any product has.

I am not sure how I’d handle my day if I didn’t have the SW community! Best of luck to you! We’ll leave the door open if you can’t stay away.

Hey, I retired a while back but I still make every effort to get back here daily if I can. The “Daily Challenge” tends to keep me in the game.

That doesn’t mean you can’t pop in and share a post now ant then…

I haven’t gotten to use the applications in years but I never left the community (on the contrary, I became a SpiceLeader and have held many meetings). As already pointed out, you’re still welcome to remain part of the community regardless of not using any of the applications.

Yeah, seriously. The community and the product are separate entities. I trialed the help desk product once for a previous employer, wasn’t thrilled with the interface and I knew our users wouldn’t go for it (too visually cluttered, too busy).
But the value from the community has been immeasurable (at least when I was still in traditional IT as opposed to what I do now). Still disappointed that my local SpiceCorps is deader than dead and had been since even before the pandemic, but even that’s not a prerequisite for participating in the community.
